OJ Simpson's death has brought up several details from his trial in the spotlight once again, the dispute over Simpson's tell-all book "If I Did It," had indicated that there was no love lost between the Goldman family and Simpson, as reported by PEOPLE. Now, a statement from lawyer Malcolm LaVergne, who has been named the executor of the former football player's estate, has revealed that even on his deathbed, Simpson held a grudge against the Goldman family. Simpson was famously acquitted of the charges of murdering his wife Nicole Brown Simpson. along with Ron Goldman.

A civil lawsuit filed by the Goldman and Brown families after Simpson's acquittal brought a change in public perception of the former NFL star, and the Goldman family ensured that Simpson was held liable to punitive damages, even if he was not behind bars. The verdict in the civil suit was in favor of the Goldman and Brown families, and Simpson was ordered to pay $25 million, as per New York Times. The Goldman family took proceeds after Simpson’s memorabilia was auctioned off and also got a portion of the earnings from "If I Did It." They even used their rights to publish a revised edition with additional commentary.

Now Attorney Malcolm LaVergne has said in his interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal, “It’s my hope that the Goldmans get zero, nothing. And I will do everything in my capacity as the executor or personal representative to try and ensure that they get nothing.” Simpson's death was announced by his family on X (formerly known as Twitter). They shared that he breathed his last because of cancer and was surrounded by close ones in his last moments. Since the news went public, media was abuzz with speculation on whether the former footballer had paid off the amount he owed to the Goldman family. Court documents filed in 2022, declared that the Goldman family to this date had only received around $132,000 from Mr. Simpson.

Despite getting acquitted of murder, 13 years later Simpson was found guilty of robbery and kidnapping, as per PEOPLE.  He was sentenced to 33 years in prison for that crime.

Following his death, the executioner LeVergne has made his intentions very clear regarding the payout. He would try his utmost best to ensure that the Goldman family does not get anything out of his client's estate. The Goldman family is unhappy with the way things have gone down regarding the payout and claims that Simpson owes them close to $100 million if the interest that gets added due to the delay in the settlement is taken into consideration. Lawyer David Cook who represents the Goldman family, shared in a statement how the family feels about the situation. "He died without penance,” Cook said of Simpson. “He did not want to give a dime, a nickel to Fred [Goldman], never, anything, never.” More than the money they feel hurt by the fact that Simpson died without paying for his crimes.
