According to a complaint filed against Shane Killian, the man intentionally discharged a firearm that killed three adults (wife, mother-in-law, father-in-law) and one child, and also wounded another minor, the Alameda County District Attorney said.

"This is an unimaginable act of violence that leaves us all heartbroken for this family and for community members traumatized by this in the City of Alameda," said DA Pamela Price.

"Domestic violence is an insidious problem in our society, which is exacerbated with deadly consequences when there are guns in the home. My office stands ready to seek justice on behalf of the victims and their loved ones," said Price

The defendant has been charged with four counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, corporal injury to a relationship partner, elder or dependent adult abuse, infliction of injury, possession of an assault weapon, and possession of an unconventional pistol, the Alameda County District Attorney shared. If convicted, and sentenced for these charges, Killian could possibly face up to 100 years in prison.

The victims have been identified as Brenda Natali Morales, 36, Miguel Carcamo, 70, William Killian, 6, Wesley Killian, 1, and Marta Morales-Diaz, 56, People reported.

Police Chief, Nishant Joshi, stated in a press conference that officials came to the scene after a neighbor contacted them to inform them that Shane Killian's father-in-law had been shot, People reported. Officials tended to the victim but weren't able to save him. In his dying moments, he reportedly shared that Shane Killian was the killer.

Shane Killian came to the door of a residence in the neighborhood where police had been called, and was detained without incident, according to Joshi, People reported. Police entered the residence, and found the other four victims. No reason has been revealed yet.

Killian is being held without bail, and his arraignment has been delayed until July 22, NBC Bay Area reported.
