Las Vegas Hiker in Search of Mysterious Cave for His YouTube Followers Vanishes En Route
Social media has its pros and cons. The platform can direct an individual toward healthy spaces and at the same time push them to do tasks that could be dangerous to their lives. Las Vegas native, Kenny Veach, was a hiker, who uploaded his adventures on a YouTube channel, LADBible reported.
In one of his videos, he talked about a mysterious cave in Las Vegas, that he exited from because of feeling vibrations in it. His viewers urged him to check out the cave again, and he followed their wishes. Veach has been missing since then. He went in search of the cave, around nine years ago, and left behind him a series of speculations from his fans and family.
M-Shaped Cave
Kenny Veach uploaded a video on his channel (@snakebitmgee) on October 18, 2014, where he showed his search for a peculiar-looking cave. The hiker captioned the video, "Searching for a weird cave that I came across on a previous hike." The cave as explained by him was in the north of Las Vegas.
He further added, "It's a big cave that looks just like a gigantic M. It's about as tall as I am, and kind of narrow. It's stuck on the side of a mountain". As the man made his way through the cave, he talked to his viewers about the various places he was crossing.
The hiker also shared his past experience in the cave. He explained that the last time, when he entered the cave, his body vibrated. "The closer I got to it, the crazier my body felt. I was like all right, I'm not going to go in there right now," he explained.
The man allegedly shared his experience on YouTube, where people challenged him to prove that this cave was real. Hence, he was back in the location in pursuit of the elusive cave.
Girlfriend's Comment
Kenny Veach did not manage to find the cave in the video. The video has gained three million views, in the past decade, and has many people in the comment section asking for an update regarding the situation.
In November of the same year, it was reported that the hiker had gone missing in the same area where this cave was supposedly located, News3 reported. This made viewers further worried about the hiker, with several believing that he could have ventured out to search for the cave again.
His alleged girlfriend took to the comment section to give her take on Kenny Veach's disappearance. "I want you to know that I do not think Kenny had an accident. I believe he committed suicide. He battled depression for many years and would not take medication or see a doctor. He quit his job a little more than a year before he disappeared," @sheryonpilgrim8032 who claimed to be the man's girlfriend, shared.
Investigation
Family and friends could not get a hold of Kenny Veach since November 10, News 3 reported. Authorities were informed, and they found his mobile, near a mine shaft in the Sheep Mountains. "We found his cell phone close to a very vertical old mine shaft and we can't find another trail," Red Rock Search & Rescue Commander Dave Cummings said. "It doesn't mean that he's down the mine shaft, but we have tracked him as far as we can. We are having our other crews come in from the search areas." Search efforts were increased but no further clues were found.
Family's Reaction
Susan Veach, Kenny's sister-in-law, was not convinced that the man disappeared while searching for the cave, EWU reported. She speculates that the man disappeared for attention.
In 2018, footage emerged of a man stealing an iPad from the wellness center owned by Kenny Veach's sister, Debbie. The sister was convinced that the man was Kenny Veach. She claimed that he was injured. "Instantly I was like, 'Oh my God, that's Kenny.' My heart fell out of my chest. I swear I broke out in a sweat," she said. There have been no updates regarding the hiker, since then.
