POLICE FIND DEAD BODY MILES AWAY FROM A SITE WHERE A WOMAN WAS KIDNAPPED IN BROAD DAYLIGHT
Authorities in Florida have found a body that they believe to be of Katherine Altagracia Guerrero De Aguasvias, a woman who has been missing for the past few days. As reported by HuffPost, the woman was kidnapped in broad daylight at gunpoint by some perpetrators, and since then, investigations have been making efforts to find clues about the woman's whereabouts. The body was discovered a few miles away from the site of the kidnapping, which was filmed by a passerby. The footage was also sent to the local TV station WESH’s Stewart Moore.
The video captured Katherine's car being tailed by a green Acura, which she had also noticed following her before calling her husband to inform him about it. At that time he had advised her to keep driving and said, “Don’t stop anywhere.” But the woman had to hit the brakes when she reached a red light, and at that very moment, a man stepped out of the green car. He pointed a gun at her, after which she unlocked the back door allowing him to enter the seat behind the driver's side of the vehicle. Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma who has been overseeing the investigation, shared that the authorities believe at least two perpetrators were involved.
The body was found in a burning car 17 miles away from the site. Since the scene was heavily damaged it was hard for the investigators to identify if the car and remains belonged to Katherine. Apart from the body the detectives also found twelve 10mm shell casings at the scene, which matched the type of ammunition that is used in the firearm used by the perpetrator in the video. Even though the detectives have still not been able to pinpoint the cause of the crime, they believe that the perpetrators knew the victim. The kidnappers knew “exactly who they were following.” Lemma told reporters on Friday. “I suspect that where they told her to go is somewhere where they’ve been before — they seemed very familiar with that area down there. I don’t think this is randomly, ‘Hey, pull off the road,’” Lemma said. No arrests have been made and updates will be given in due time.
