Robots have both captivated and scared humans. The use of robots to improve an individual's quality of life is what most of us will be looking forward to soon, but at the same time, its negative sides have not gone unnoticed.

People's reaction to the range of new Tesla robots named Optimus highlighted these opposite emotions, UNILAD reported. Many were happy to see the advancement in Robot technology but were also concerned about it going out of control. Amid the divided opinion, a netizen dropped his conversation with one of the robots, which seemed to worry many.

Optimus made an appearance at an event called We, Robot at Warner Bros studios in California, UNILAD reported. Optimus' design allows them to mimic human actions.

"It'll do anything you want. It can be a teacher, babysit your kids, it can walk your dog, mow your lawn, get groceries. Just be your friend, and serve drinks. Whatever you can think of, it will do," Elon Musk explained. The project has been in development for a long time, CNN reported.

Musk claims that if these robots are mass-produced, humans can own them for around $20,000. The Tesla CEO further added that these robots carry a huge advantage over others of the same kind, because of their ability to navigate tasks independently. The robot is yet to be launched for sale.

We, Robot Event

We, Robot event took place at Warner Bros. Discovery studio on October 10, Tech Crunch reported. Many of Tesla's offerings were put on display for the public during the event, like Cybercabs and Robovan.

Many Optimus models were walking amongst people in the gathering, dancing like go-go dancers, and even mixing drinks. They were talking to the guests and were able to do various accents on demand.

There was also some confusion, in regards to whether the robots were being controlled by a human or not. The name of the event is allegedly inspired by the movie I, Robot starring Will Smith, which featured robots staging a revolution against society.

Robot Optimus' Aim

An interviewer's chat with Optimus has been going viral on social media. The chat uploaded by @cb_doge showcases the fears, humanity may have to face in the future.

The chat begins on a casual note with the interviewer discussing places like Silicon Valley with the robot. Optimus talked about the factory where they were manufactured and said, "That's where they train us, that's where we get our builds - they're wonderful, super people."

The conversation then shifted gears, when the interviewer asked Optimus about the hardest part of their job. They replied, "Trying to learn how to be as human as you guys are. And that's something I try to do harder every day and I hope that you'll help us become that."

Many commenters pointed out that a robot's aim to become human is the start of its desire to want a human's position in society.

Netizens vs. Optimus

The answer scared many netizens as evidenced by the comment section. @joe_warmington believes this is a warning that everything is going to go haywire and wrote, "This is how the movie starts."

@yzyicyspicyy thinks these are not good signs for humanity and people should take note of such threats. They commented, "That man is literally a threat to our safety and humanity. Y'all don’t take black mirror seriously enough for me."
