An 8-year-old boy was accidentally shot in the chest by his 14-year-old brother in a Walmart parking lot while in possession of a gun belonging to their father, an off-duty Oklahoma City police officer, authorities said.
The incident occurred on July 4 at the store in Choctaw, KOKH reported.
Police said the brothers went to the Walmart with another relative, who left them in the car to run inside to grab something.
The police officer was not present when the shooting occurred, and officials confirmed the gun used in the shooting belonged to the father.
