The death of an 18-month-old boy in Michigan was determined to be a homicide and his babysitter has been arrested, police said.
Around 6:00 pm. on Dec. 15, 2022, officers responded to a report of an unresponsive 18-month-old boy at an apartment complex in Portage, according to WXMI.
Once at the scene, police found the toddler still unresponsive, but with a pulse, officials said.
The child, later identified as Jacob Flowers, was taken to a local hospital. Around 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 16, 2022, police were notified that the boy had passed away, WXMI reported.
Because of the nature of the injuries, investigators said the death was being considered suspicious. They added all parties involved were cooperating with investigators.
On March 25, police announced that Brandon Bryce Sullivan, 29, was arrested and charged with felony murder and first-degree child abuse in the boy’s death.

On March 22, investigators received the autopsy report for Flowers, which determined the cause of death to be homicide, officials said.
