Two Children Abducted By Mom In 2020 Found Safe; Mom Arrested
April 20 2023, Published 1:12 p.m. ET
Two Pennsylvania girls missing since 2020 have been found safe and their mother has been taken into custody, according to authorities.
On March 17, 2020, Hanna Lee and Skye Rex were reported missing when they were just 7 and 5 years old, as Front Page Detectives previously reported.
Their father, John Rex, was involved in a custody battle with the girls' non-custodial mother, Lashada Lee, just before the pair's disappearance, WHP-TV reported. When Rex went to Lee's residence to pick up his daughters, he discovered that both she and the girls were missing.
Hanna and Skye were last seen on March 15, 2020, with Lashada, officials said.
Around 12 p.m. on April 19, Lashada turned herself in to the Waynesboro Police Department, along with Hanna and Skye, WHP-TV reported. No details were given on where the three have been over the past three years.
Waynesboro Police Chief James Sourbier told WHP-TV, “The simple fact of the matter is, right now, what I care about is that the children are safe and that she is in custody and will be held to account for the crimes that she has been charged with.”
