5-Year-Old California Boy Dies After Twin Brother Allegedly Fatally Stabs Him During Argument, Officials Said

Twin 5-year-old brothers were allegedly arguing in California when one of the twins fatally stabbed the other one, according to authorities.
Around 4 p.m. on Nov. 15, officers were dispatched to a residence in Scotts Valley for a victim of a stabbing, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office.
Once at the scene, deputies learned that two 5-year-old twins were fighting, “as siblings sometimes do,” officials said.
During the fight, one of the twins grabbed a small kitchen knife and stabbed his twin brother, police said.
The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he passed away, authorities said.
The sheriff’s office worked with the District Attorney’s Office and in a statement, they said “in light of all circumstances discovered by our investigators, no charges will be filed.”

During the current investigation, officials determined there was no indication of negligence or criminal activity by any other party.
No details were given on how the boy gained access to a knife in the kitchen.
In a statement, the sheriff’s office said, “We are heartbroken for the family of these two young children and share in their grief.”
