Female Employee At Academy For Troubled Teens Accused Of Inappropriate Relationship With Minor, Authorities Say
A woman in Florida was arrested after she allegedly had a relationship with a 16-year-old girl while employed as a supervisor at an academy for troubled teenagers, authorities said.
Libby Chrome, 27, faces a charge involving an authority figure soliciting or engaging in lewd conduct with a minor in connection with the allegations, WJXT reported.
According to an arrest warrant obtained by the station, Chrome and the minor allegedly “had a relationship of a romantic nature” that began last March while Chrome was “in a position of authority” at Florida Youth Challenge Academy at Camp Blanding.
The following month, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office learned of the alleged ongoing relationship involving Chrome and the juvenile, who had since graduated.
Investigators conducted an interview with the teenager in July as well as gathered communications between the suspect and the girl that included emails, text messages and love notes.
Chrome was being held at the Clay County jail.
