Actress Zoe McLellan accused of kidnapping child in custody battle, judge orders cops to find her
An actress is accused of kidnapping her child in a bitter custody dispute, and a judge has directed law enforcement to find the celebrity and the youngster.
The case involves Zoe McLellan, known for her roles on “NCIS” and “Dirty Sexy Money,” and her ex, J.P. Gillian. The main dispute is over custody of their child and the fighting dates back several years.
According to court records, in April, a California judge ordered the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office to take necessary steps to fid McLellan and the child. TMZ reported there is an active arrest warrant for McLellan.
Gillian claims McLellan was ordered to turn custody over to him in September 2020, according to court records.
But, she has refused and claims the California court orders are not valid, Gillian argued in court documents. He also included email conversations between him and the actress.
In one conversation, McLellan calls her ex an rapist. He was arrested in January 2020 in Louisana and accused of sexually assaulting their child, according to media reports.
The father claims McLellan told a boyfriend that she would do whatever it takes to keep the child away from Gillian. McLellan has also refused to pay up to $30,000 a month in child support and that she removed the child from California.
According to court records, McLellan lives in Louisiana.
Gillian says it has been two years since he has seen their son and that he fears McLellan “could do something violent to him or me.”
The judge’s order demands the child be turned over to the father and McLellan to appear at a July 15 hearing. The order was filed under the California law that orders a district attorney’s office to help the court find missing children.
The judge noted McLellan failed to appear at hearings, did not turn the child over to Gillian, who was given sole custody. The judge also stated the actress moved with the child to Louisiana without the court’s approval.
McLellan and her attorney have not responded in court filings to the accusations or the judge’s order.
