Police: 3-year-old boy fatally shot in Alabama, suspect charged with capital murder

A 3-year-old boy was fatally shot in Alabama and now police say a 35-year-old man has been charged with capital murder.
Around 5 p.m. July 17, police responded to a Montgomery, Alabama, hospital regarding a report of a child shot, officials said.
Authorities said the child was later pronounced dead.
The child killed was identified as 3-year-old Jeremiah Chappell and Orlando Meghell Harriell, 35, was identified as a suspect by police, authorities said.
While the names of the suspect and victim have been released, police have not disclosed the circumstances surrounding the deadly shooting, Montgomery Real-Time News reported.
Harriell was booked into the Montgomery County Detention Center on July 18 and charged with capital murder in connection to the shooting death of a toddler, officials said.
