At the scene, officers found the severely decomposed body, which was believed to be 19-year-old Logan Michael Halstead, who reportedly had prolonged health issues.

The body was stuffed inside an overturned freezer in the backyard of the rental home, WDHN reported.

Investigators determined the deceased teenager’s parents, 44-year-old Michael Halstead and 43-year-old Karen Halstead, previously lived at the home, but left after they allegedly skipped out on their rent. The new tenants found the body while cleaning up the property, according to WDHN.

Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship told the station that the body possibly had been in the freezer since August.
