77-Year-Old Woman Found Dead In Her Alabama Home, Grandson Accused Of Murder

A man in Alabama is accused of killing his 77-year-old grandmother, but details about her death are sparse.
Around 7:20 p.m. on June 22, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office in Alabama was called to the Summerhill area for a suspicious person.
Deputies eventually went to a home and found Dinah Davis Northcutt, 77, dead in her home, according to the sheriff’s office. Her death was determined to be a homicide, but police have not said how she was killed.
Investigators identified her grandson Richard Alan Howell, 31, as a suspect and he was arrested.
Police have not released a motive in the case.
Howell was charged with murder and is being held in an Alabama jail on $150,000 bond.
