Alabama Man Will Die In Prison After He's Found Guilty Of Raping 18-Month-Old Female Relative

An Alabama jury found a man guilty of raping an 18-month-old baby and he will now be spending the rest of his life in prison, according to authorities.

In 2020, prosecutors said 26-year-old Cody Ryan Lee Bush raped an 18-month-old female relative in Mobile.

Prosecutors planned on introducing evidence during the trial that showed Bush also molested another young girl several years ago when the victim was between 7 and 9 years old.

During a 2019 search of the suspect's home, investigators found pornographic videos connected with that victim.

However, prosecutors ultimately never presented the earlier case's evidence during Bush's trial.

Mobile District Attorney Keith Blackwood said, “What we presented in court was hard to see and hard to hear. We are thankful the jury saw the truth.”

The jury found Bush guilty on all counts against him, including first-degree rape of a child under 7, first-degree sodomy of a child under 7, possession of child pornography and dissemination of child pornography.

Bush was being held at the Mobile Metro Jail and is scheduled to be sentenced on March 20. He will receive an automatic sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
