Alabama woman intentionally ran over her boyfriend on interstate, killing him, authorities say
A woman was charged with murder after authorities said she intentionally ran over her boyfriend and killed him on an Alabama interstate.
Around 11:15 a.m. on Feb. 8 the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency responded to Interstate 59/20 in Tuscaloosa County after receiving a 911 call about a pedestrian hit by a vehicle, Birmingham’s WBRC reported.
At the scene, officers found 27-year-old Dennis Melton, of Demopolis, Alabama, underneath a vehicle. He was rushed to an area hospital, where he died.
Eyewitnesses told police the incident possibly wasn’t an accident, and the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit opened up an investigation. Officials have not released a possible motive for the alleged crime.
Authorities identified the victim’s girlfriend, Angelica Quintana, 28, as a suspect in the case and charged with her murder.
Quintana was being held at the Tuscaloosa County jail on a $500,000 bond.
