New York Man Accused Of Killing His Neighbor In Her Apartment: Police
A New York man is accused of murdering a neighbor who lived in his apartment complex and then stealing her car, authorities said.
This week, police in Corning arrested Brett Heffner, 29, in connection with the second-degree murder of 26-year-old Keli Collins, WWTI reported.
According to police, officers were called to the Walter Smith Terrace apartments about an unresponsive woman and found Collins dead.

Investigators believe Heffner, who lived in the complex, attacked Collins in her apartment and he then drove her car to Hornell, where he was arrested a short time later, police said.
Heffner was booked into the Steuben County jail without bail.
An autopsy determined the victim died from “ligature strangulation homicide,” WENY reported.
The murder investigation is ongoing.
