Argument over sale of a dog leaves 3 dead in Florida

A fight over the sale of a dog in Florida led to a shooting that left two adults and a toddler dead, according to authorities.

Around 10 p.m. on Sept. 23, a group of five people, including a 3-year-old child, drove to an apartment complex in Jacksonville “to conduct the sale of a dog,” Jacksonville Sheriff’s Officer Assistant Chief J.D. Stronko said during a press conference.

Stronko said a fight broke out in a breezeway between two of the apartment buildings, but the cause for the dispute are still under investigation.

The shooting occurred during the dispute, with four of the five people being shot. Officials said two adults and the 3-year-old were fatally shot.

Witnesses told police they saw two men leaving the area after the shooting in a black sedan.

The investigation is ongoing and Stronko said investigators are working to determine exactly what happened and led to the shooting.

The names of the victims have not been released.
