An Arizona Woman Got Into an Argument With Her Boyfriend. Then, She Ran Over Him With Her Car and Killed Him, Cops Say.

A woman in Arizona has been arrested after she allegedly hit her boyfriend with her vehicle, killing him after the couple got into an argument, according to authorities.

Around 8:40 a.m. on May 20, officers responded to a report in Casa Grande of a person who a vehicle struck, according to the Casa Grande Police Department.

Once at the scene, police found the victim, 59-year-old Billy Stephens, lying near the road suffering severe trauma. His girlfriend, 51-year-old Shelly Shears, was reportedly near the victim at the scene, police said.

Stephens was airlifted to a Phoenix-area hospital, where he died from his wounds, authorities said.

During the investigation, officers believe Shears and Stephens got into a verbal argument before she allegedly hit him with her vehicle.

Shears was arrested on a charge of second-degree murder and booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center, police said.

She is scheduled to appear in court on May 30.
