A man tried to kidnap a former coworker at a Red Lobster but failed and now faces criminal charges.
Last week, police in Rogers, Arkansas, arrested Dennis J. Mulhern, 49, according to KNWA.
Around midnight on Sept. 4, a 19-year-old woman reported she was leaving work at a Red Lobster and walking to her vehicle. That is when Mulhern, a former work acquaintance, came up behind and tried to put a cloth bag over her head, according to the report.
The woman resisted and both fell to the ground.
Mulhern said he “just wanted to talk,” and then he walked into another business as she fled the area, according to KNWA.
Mulhern told officers he was upset with the victim because she told others he raped her, and he wanted to talk about it, the report stated.
The victim said Mulhern had harassed her for a year after he left the job and left threatening messages, the report noted.
He now faces several charges, including first-degree false imprisonment and second-degree stalking.
