A man and woman have been arrested for allegedly using a power tool to rape a 5-year-old girl in Arkansas, according to authorities.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office said deputies received a report about the alleged rape in south Logan County last month.
Investigators determined the victim allegedly sustained injuries at the hands of 24-year-old Saria Galvan and 26-year-old Andrew Giboney, KATV reported. The duo fled to Oklahoma right after the incident took place, authorities said.
Police said they believe the suspects “held down a five-year-old female victim and forcibly inserted the end of a power tool into her vagina,” which “caused injury to the victim.”
Officials noted evidence was collected from the victim as well as from where the alleged rape occurred. The evidence, officials added, helped support the allegations against Giboney and Galvan and charges were filed against them.
Authorities were able to track down Galvan and Giboney in Oklahoma, and the suspects were returned to Arkansas and booked into the Logan County Detention Center, officials said.
