An Arkansas couple was arrested after they allegedly set up a date to have sex with a prepubescent child, according to authorities.
Benjamin Coney, 26, head coach of a minor league football team, and his wife, 25-year-old Emily Brinley, are accused of recently arranging a meeting with who they thought was a child through an encrypted app, according to court documents obtained by KATV.
The couple, however, was actually communicating with an undercover detective, authorities said.
In one message Coney allegedly sent, he wrote, “I’m into some very f*****-up, sick taboos,” court documents claimed.
The couple allegedly traveled from their home in Conway to meet who they thought was a child and they were arrested, law enforcement officials said.
Coney and Brinley were each charged with internet stalking of a child, and conspiracy to commit rape, officials said.
They were each being held on $200,000 bonds in Benton County.
Coney reportedly was immediately fired from his job as head coach of the Arkansas Punishers of the Next Level Football Alliance.
