What started as a suicide investigation in Arkansas quickly became a murder case with one person behind bars, police said.
Around noon on Sept. 14, police in Little Rock, Arkansas, responded to a reported suicide on Center Street.
A 911 caller reported hearing a gunshot and then finding a woman possibly dead, according to police.
When officers arrived, they found the dead woman inside the residence. The victim was identified as Teresa Jones. The initial investigation could not determine what happened or how she died.
Homicide detectives then responded and determined the case wasn’t suicide but a killing, police said.
Officers identified Jamaal Johnson as a suspect and he was arrested. He was charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a certain person.
