20-year-old gunned down in Atlanta, near the scene of another murder months earlier: report
A suspect is accused of gunning a 20-year-old man in Atlanta and now faces a murder charge, police said.
Last week, Atlanta police responded to a shooting on Forsyth Street. When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound.
The victim was identified as 20-year-old Nasir Fitzgerald, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Fitzgerald was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries, according to Atlanta police. Investigators determined the shooting happened on Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard, near where another murder happened in November.
But officials told the Journal-Constitution that they don’t believe the two cases were linked.
Police identified William Warren as the suspect in Fitzgerald shooing and he was arrested last week. He was charged with felony murder and two counts of aggravated assault.
Investigators have not released a possible motive for the shooting.
