A travel nurse working in Atlanta sexually assaulted two of his patients and now faces criminal charges, police said.
The first incident involving Nikhil Narasappa, who was employed by Premier Healthcare Professionals and working at Emory University Hospital Midtown, happened on Oct. 13, but the investigation came back “inconclusive,” The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
Narasappa was placed on leave during that investigation and returned to work afterward. Police were then called in to investigate a second incident that happened on Nov. 1, officials said.
Officials said this investigation led them to contact the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office. Warrants were obtained for Narasappa at that time.
Narasappa was arrested and booked into the Fulton County Jail, police said. He was charged with two counts of sexual battery and two counts of sexual assault by a person with supervisory authority.
The report did not detail where the alleged assaults occurred or the names of the victims.
According to authorities, Narasappa was not an employee of Emory Healthcare but was contracted to provide patient care there. His contract with Emory University has been terminated.
