A South Carolina Teenager Went to Walmart to Get Items for His Baby. Now, He's Accused of Attempted Murder.
A teenager who is the suspect in an attempted murder case in South Carolina was taken into custody after he tried shoplifting at Walmart, officials said.
Shortly before 2 p.m. on July 9, security allegedly caught Geovannie Lavance Rose, 18, on camera leaving the store in North Charleston with a cartful of unpaid merchandise, according to police.
Rose told responding officers that it “wasn’t his day” and claimed he had tried to steal the $371 in merchandise because he needed it for his baby, WCBD reported.
While investigating Rose, officers learned he was wanted for multiple crimes, including attempted murder, attempted armed robbery, and possession of a firearm during a violent crime.

He was taken into custody and booked into the Charleston County Detention Center.
