California Mother Arrested After 17-Month-Old Daughter Died From Possible Fentanyl Overdose: Sheriff
Drugs may have played a role in the death of a baby girl in California, and the child’s mother is now under arrest, officials said.
Around 3:30 p.m. on May 9, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a child in need of medical aid at a home in Norco.
On the scene, deputies found a 17-month-old baby girl who was not breathing and first responders began life-saving measures, which were unsuccessful.
Deputies determined the death was suspicious.
After an investigation, Jennifer Johanna Allen, 32, was arrested on a murder charge and evidence showed the case may have involved the deadly drug fentanyl.
The investigation is ongoing.
