On Nov. 29, 2022, Metoyer was babysitting his friend’s daughter, Starks, in Detroit when he allegedly abused the baby, officials said.
Medics responding to the scene transported the child to an area hospital, and she died from her injuries two days later, on Dec. 1.
An autopsy determined Stark was killed by blunt-force trauma to the head.
In addition to the murder count, Metoyer faces a charge of first-degree child abuse.
