Woman dies after being pushed down a flight of stairs in Baltimore home. Police say her cousin is the killer.
A man is accused of pushing his cousin to her death down a flight of stairs and has now been charged with murder, police said.
On Feb. 1, police in Baltimore responded to a North Curley Street home for a reported assault.
Officers learned that a 33-year-old woman — later identified as Shanlette Lewis — was pushed down the stairs following an argument with Demetrick Lewis, according to Baltimore police. The duo were cousins.
The victim was taken to a hospital with a head injury, police said.
On Feb. 3, Shanlette Lewis died, and the medical examiner’s office ruled her death a homicide, according to authorities.
Baltimore police announced on Feb. 9 they arrested Demetrick Lewis in connection to the victim’s death. He was charged with first-degree murder and booked into jail.
