A Woman Split With Her Boyfriend Over A Robbery. So He Fatally Shot Her Through A Bathroom Window, Cops Say.
A man in Tennessee faces a murder charge after he allegedly opened fire on his ex-girlfriend through a bathroom window and killed her, authorities said.
On the evening of Jan. 18, Donald Britt, 32, asked for a ride to a residence in Blountville, WCYB reported, citing court documents.
About half an hour later, a relative of Britt’s ex-girlfriend, 36-year-old Katie Arnold, heard a squeal from the bathroom and found her shot dead on the floor, the court documents state, noting Britt was identified as Arnold’s suspected killer.
According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the following day, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the Jonesborough Police Department, and the Johnson City Police Department got into a pursuit with Britt after he was located in Jonesborough.
During the chase, Britt wrecked his car when he crashed into a TBI agent’s vehicle and officers were able to take him into custody.
Court documents state texts between Britt and Arnold show she split with Britt days before she was killed “after confronting him regarding his involvement in a robbery in Johnson City.”
