Woman Who Phoned 911 After Her Boyfriend Was Shot Now Accused Of His Murder, Police Say
A California woman was behind bars on suspicion of homicide in connection to the death of her boyfriend, authorities said.
According to police in San Jose, shortly after 3 a.m. on May 16, Jessica Nicole Garrison phoned 911 to report her boyfriend was shot.
Officers responding to the scene found both Garrison, 41, and her boyfriend each suffering gunshot wounds, KTVU reported.
The boyfriend was pronounced dead and Garrison, who was grazed by a bullet, was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police did not disclose further details on the circumstances of the deadly shooting, including who fired at whom or if Garrison attempted to take her own life.
Investigators determined Garrison was the prime suspect in the case, and they arrested her.
She was being held at the Santa Clara County jail.
“We’re still processing evidence, collecting evidence, and going through victim and witness statements that are available to us,” police spokesperson Steve Aponte said.
