Buffalo firefighter accused of shooting and killing man while off duty, charged with murder

An off-duty firefighter in Buffalo, New York, has been arrested after he allegedly shot a man during an argument, according to prosecutors.
Blake M. Banks, 24, has been charged with one count of second-degree murder, according to the Erie County District Attorney's Office.
Around 1 p.m. July 20, Banks allegedly shot a 40-year-old man during a dispute. After being shot, the victim tried to drive away but crashed his vehicle nearby, according to the district attorney's office.
The victim was taken to the hospital, where he died of his injuries.
Officials have not said what led to the alleged dispute before the shooting.
Banks is scheduled to return to court on Aug. 4 for a felony hearing. Banks is currently being held without bail and faces up to life in prison.
