Two dead in California bar shooting, police arrest suspected shooter and alleged accomplice

Two people were shot and killed at a California bar after a disagreement and police say the suspected shooter was arrested in Arizona.

Alleged shooter Eddie Cordero, 25, was found in Phoenix, Arizona, according to police in Clovis, California. Cops say they had to ram into his car as he left a store to get him to stop and apprehend him, according to FOX 26.

Authorities say Cordero and another person entered a Clovis bar shortly after 2 a.m. in May and immediately began shooting.

Cops arrived within two minutes but did not find the suspect at that time.

Merehildo Luna, 21, and Andres Sanchez, 27, died during the shooting, FOX 26 reported. A third victim was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.

Detectives believe the victims were targeted by Cordero due to a disagreement at the bar a few hours earlier, according to FOX 26.

Clovis police also said they Anthony Guzman, 25, on a charge of being an accessory to the murders.

Both men have been booked into the Maricopa County Jail, where they will remain in custody in Arizona until they can be extradited to California.
