California man charged more than a year after allegedly shooting and killing pregnant woman

A California man has been charged after he allegedly shot and killed a pregnant teenager in 2020, police said.
On Jan. 24, detectives arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with the murder of 19-year-old Sereinat’e Henderson, according to police in Berkeley, California.
On Oct. 21, 2020, a car driving through Berkeley was shot at multiple times, police said. The car was occupied by Henderson and other family members, including her 1-year-old son.
Henderson was taken to a hospital, where she later died.
Henderson was pregnant with her second child at the time of her death, police said.
After months of investigation, detectives identified the suspect through electronic and forensic evidence. Detectives arrested a 21-year-old man, who was in custody at Santa Rita Jail for a gang-related shooting also in Berkeley. The suspect's name has not been released.
The suspect has been charged with murder, shooting at an occupied vehicle, attempted murder, assault with a semiautomatic firearm and possession of a firearm by a felon.
