Band director at California charter school accused of putting a hidden camera on campus
A charter school’s band director is accused of putting a hidden camera on campus and now faces a child pornography charge.
Kenneth Sockwell, 63, was charged by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department in connection to the incident. KCAL identified Sockwell as the band director at Apple Valley Charter School in California.
On Oct. 22, deputies from the sheriff’s department were called to the school after staff found a hidden camera on campus, according to the department.
The sheriff’s department did not indicate where the camera was found.
Police investigated and said they determined Sockwell was the person who placed the camera. He was charged with possession of child pornography and taken to the High Desert Detention Center.
