A California couple has been arrested in connection with a 2018 murder in Oregon.
On Dec. 16, police arrested Jeremy Milton Lacy, 43, and Eileen Gay Lacy, 51, for the murder of Jack Hasbrouck, according to the Oregon State Police.
On March 21, 2018, Hasbrouck’s body was found in the woods, north of Beatty, Oregon, in Klamath County.
It was apparent that Hasbrouck had died as a result of homicidal violence, according to the State Police.
Investigators followed multiple leads until they developed suspects in the murder. State police did not specify how the victim was killed.
In late November of 2021, a grand jury indicted Jeremy Lacy and Eileen Lacy, a married couple, for the murder of Hasbrouck. Investigators did not detail if the couple new the victim.
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Klamath County Major Crime Team with determining Jeremy and Eileen Lacy were living near Willow Creek, California, according to Oregon State Police.
On Dec. 16, a California Highway Patrol officer found Jeremy Lacy driving on Highway 299, east of Eureka, California, and he was taken into custody without incident.
Eileen Lacy was found a short time later and was taken into custody.
