Woman's Body Was So Badly Dismembered After Her Homicide She Couldn't Be Recognized, Cops Say

A 77-year-old woman was so badly dismembered after she was killed that her body could not be recognized. Now, a man faces charges for her death, police said.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office in California stated that deputies arrested Darnell Erby, 44, in connection to the July 19 incident.
The homicide happened at the home of Pamela Garrett May, 77, according to the sheriff’s office. Her body was so badly dismembered it could not be recognized and a coroner had to identify the woman.

Police were mum on other details, such as how May was killed. They also have not released a motive in the killing.
Erby was charged with homicide.
He is being held in jail without bond.
