A woman was arrested after a man who was reported missing in 2014 was found dead in a makeshift tomb in their home.
This week, San Bernardino police in California announced the arrest of Trista Spicer.
On Aug. 23, police received a tip about human remains at a home in San Bernadino. They got a search warrant and went to a home on East Davidson Street to check.
Investigators found a makeshift tomb on the property, and human remains were inside.
Police determined that Spicer and Eric Mercado lived at the home together, authorities said. Mercado had been reported missing by his family in 2014 and had not been seen since.
Authorities said they believe Spicer was responsible for Mercado’s murder but didn’t offer further details.
She was arrested, charged with murder and booked into jail.
