Man turns himself in for murder after allegedly shooting, killing a person

A California man has been arrested on a murder charge after he turned himself in to police.
Around 11 p.m. Dec. 6., Barstow police detectives began to investigate a shooting in the 1100 block of Barstow Road in Barstow, California.
The victim, Raymond Warren, died at the scene, according to police.
Police identified the suspect as William Jones, 27. Authorities tried to contact him but were unable to speak with him. On Dec. 7, officers served a search warrant at Jones’ home, where they contacted and interviewed Jones’ mother.
She advised detectives she would contact Jones and have him call law enforcement.
Jones contacted law enforcement via telephone and advised he would come down to the Barstow Police Department to turn himself in.
Around 1:30 p.m., Jones turned himself in at the police department, and he was placed under arrest for the murder, according to officials.
Police have not said whether Jones knew the victim. They also did not release a possible motive for the shooting.
