Man murdered two people in California during an 'exchange of gunfire,' cops say

A man has been arrested for killing two men during an “exchange of gunfire” in California. Police say they are currently searching for a second suspect in the case.
On Dec. 2, 2020, Jeffery Lee Crawford, 37, and Armando Partida-Sanchez, 32, were killed during an exchange of gunfire in the 1100 block of E. Santa Fe Avenue in Merced, California.
On Nov. 22, 2021, police followed up on a lead and identified Manuel Martinez, 47, as a possible suspect.
Martinez was located and admitted to his involvement in the double homicide during questioning, according to police. Investigators have not said what led to the shooting.

Martinez was arrested and booked into the Merced County Jail for murder, prohibited person in possession of a firearm and prohibited person in possession of ammunition.
Another suspect, Anthony Ruben Perez, 37, has been on the run since the shooting.
