A California nanny already behind bars for allegedly producing child porn involving an 8-month-old child in her care has now been charged by prosecutors with child molestation, according to officials.
On Sept. 23, Michelle Nicole Hidalgo, 28, was arrested after an unidentified social media company alerted the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about pornographic images of an infant shared on the company's platform, according to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.
Hidalgo was working as a part-time caregiver for the baby and was accused of sending sexually explicit photos of the child to an unidentified user on the platform, according to an affidavit obtained by KTVU.
The Hidalgo and the unidentified user chatted on the social media platform and Hidalgo allegedly allegedly offered to take more photos and engage in oral sex with the baby, according to the affidavit.
Using her IP address, investigators tracked down Hidalgo and confronted her with the alleged evidence, officials said. She allegedly admitted to taking the photos and sharing them online, but she denied she had sexually abused the child, the affidavit noted.
Hidalgo was initially charged with seven counts of producing and distributing child pornography and she was held on a $700,000 bond in the Contra Costa County Jail, authorities said.

Prosecutors added three new counts of child sexual molestation and Hidalgo’s bond was increased to a total of $3.4 million, officials said.
