A shooting in California left one man dead and now police say the suspect has been arrested and charged with murder.
Around 7 p.m. on Nov. 12, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said a call came in regarding a gunshot victim in Easton, California.
Police arrived at the scene and found an injured man and started doing CPR, but the man died form his injuries, officials said.
According to authorities, the victim was identified as 24-year-old Alexis Lopez Gutierrez.
Detectives arrived at the scene and an investigation determined 44-year-old Ricardo Gutierrez Munguia fired the shots and then fled the scene in his car, officials said.
While the victim and suspect both share the same last name, police said they are not related to each other. But they did know each other.
Police have been searching for Gutierrez ever since the shooting, but he turned himself in on Nov. 17 and was booked into the Fresno County Jail on a murder charge.
Officials say the investigation is still ongoing for this case.
