Officials said they entered the apartment and found a 33-year-old man dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

An investigation began and detectives determined the suspect was 23-year-old Kevin Daniel Johnson.

He was found and arrested, as was his girlfriend, 23-year-old Shaessenci Eunicely Smith. Police said Smith was arrested as an accessory after the fact after trying to provide an alibi to the suspect.

Johnson was booked into the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino without bail on the murder charge, according to authorities. Smith was booked into the same facility in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Police have not said what led to the shooting.
