Woman accused of killing her boyfriend in California, cops say
A woman is accused of killing her 67-year-old boyfriend in California, and now she faces a homicide charge.
Mary Sanchez, 57, was arrested last week in connection to the killing of Steven Rogers, 67, according to the Clovis Police Department.
On Dec. 18, Clovis police responded after a family member requested a welfare check at a home on Roberts Avenue. The caller said they had tried to contact the person living at the residence but had not been successful.
Officers went to the home and found and a man dead inside the home. The victim was identified as Rodgers.
Detectives identified Sanchez as a suspect and she was arrested on Dec. 23 in Bakersfield, California, police said. She was charged with one count of homicide.
Investigators have not said how the victim died or released a motive for the alleged homicide. Rogers and Sanchez were in a relationship, police said.
