A California woman has been arrested after she allegedly hit a 60-year-old woman with her car after accusing her of stealing a package from her home, according to authorities.
On Dec. 8, Dene Blakely, 39, was reportedly involved in a verbal dispute with the victim, whose identity was not released, according to the San Pablo Police Department.
Blakely confronted the woman and accused her of stealing a package from her home, authorities said. Police did not confirm if the victim had actually stolen a package.
The altercation escalated and ended with Blakely allegedly intentionally hitting the victim with her vehicle, according to police.
Blakely was arrested without incident after officers said they allegedly were able to determine the crash was the result of an “intentional act of assault,” officials said.
She was initially charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
