A California woman has been arrested after she allegedly stabbed her mother to death while livestreaming the fatal attack on Facebook, authorities alleged.
Around 5 p.m. on Jan. 8, officers and paramedics responded to an apartment building in San Rafael in reference to a fight and stabbing, according to the San Rafael Police Department.
Calls reportedly came in to police from witnesses and those who viewed a video of the stabbing on Facebook Live, officials said.
Responding officers found 28-year-old Tonantzyn Beltran standing on her apartment's rear balcony holding a knife in her hand next to her mother, officials said.
The victim, identified as 55-year-old Olivia Lucia Beltran Pacheco by the Marin County Sheriff’s Office, sustained multiple stab wounds and her clothes were soaked in blood.
She was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
At the scene, officers forced entry into the apartment and they took Beltran into custody.
Officials said they have contacted Meta to get the alleged video of the stabbing taken down.
