A California woman and her son have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a man they shared a house with, according to authorities.
Around 9 a.m. on June 21, a woman, later identified as 55-year-old Ruth Cecile Weiser, walked into a hospital complaining of a medical issue, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.
While at the hospital, Weiser allegedly called 911 to report a suspicious death at her home, officials said.
Officers arrived at the residence in Fair Oaks and found a man dead from at least one gunshot wound, authorities said. Investigators noted they located evidence that multiple rounds were fired.
The victim was one of the three residents at the home, according to Sgt. Amar Gandhi, KXTV reported.
The other two residents were Weiser and her son, 25-year-old Joseph Jon Thomason, who went to the hospital with his mother, officials said.
