South Carolina Man Allegedly Hanged Cats By Nooses From Trees, Authorities Say
A South Carolina man faces up to five years behind bars in connection to the deaths of multiple cats.
Johnathan William Grider was recently arrested on a felony ill treatment of animals charge following an investigation launched after authorities from the Lexington county Animal Services responded to a report of animal cruelty at a Gilbert, South Carolina, home on June 10, WIS-TV reported.
According to officials, Grider was alleged to have killed a cat and then hung the body from a tree.
Investigators from animal services, however, allegedly found the corpses of two cats with nooses wrapped around the animals’ necks.
Grider was arrested on a warrant and booked into the Lexington County Detention Center. He bonded out of jail on June 16.
