Two people in South Carolina have been arrested after police say an argument started over unseasoned chicken but turned into an all-out brawl.
On July 28, deputies were called to a house in Georgetown regarding a fight, according to an incident report obtained by WSB-TV.
Authorities determined violence erupted between two people who were cooking chicken — 27-year-old Anothony Harper and 25-year-old Hope Harper.
Hope claimed she asked Anothony “why he didn’t season the chicken that was cooking so it could crust up," the police report states.
According to police, Hope said Anthony allegedly attacked her as a result, telling her, “I know how to cook and Grammy was going to season the chicken."
Hope called Anothony a “dumb dog,” and he allegedly pushed the woman into the kitchen table and punched her in the face repeatedly, the report claims.
A third party, who was not named, made their way into the kitchen and fired a 9 mm handgun into the ceiling to stop the attack, according to a police report obtained by WCBD.

At another point during the dispute, Anothony was held back, and Hope grabbed a steak knife and started chasing him around the house, deputies said.
The man then ran to his grandmother’s bedroom door in fear for his life, according to the report.
The pair's grandmother then came out of her bedroom, grabbed a broom and swatted at the woman until she put the knife away and ran away, police said.
However, the calm did not last.

Anothony is accused of grabbing a can of Raid insecticide and spraying Hope in her face and neck. Hope, according to the report, was able to get ahold of the can and spray him back.
When police arrived at the scene, both of the Harpers insisted on pressing charges against the other.
Both were arrested. Anothony was charged with one count each of assault and battery in the second degree, and assault and battery in the third degree, according to the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office. Hope was charged with one count of third-degree assault and battery.
They were each booked into jail and later released on bond.
