5-year-old killed in drive-by shooting in South Carolina, suspect arrested weeks later

A 5-year-old boy was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting, and a suspect has been arrested in the case, police announced
On Dec. 28, Jasper County Sheriff’s Office deputies in South Carolina responded to the Wagon Branch area on reports of a drive-by shooting.
During the shooting, 5-year-old DeAndre Robinson was shot, according to the sheriff's office. He was transported to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries.
Detectives determined that Gregory Harris Scott, 20, was a suspect, and they obtained a warrant for his arrest, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Investigators did not say why they believe Scott was the shooter or why he fired at the boy.
On Jan. 13, Scott was arrested in Macon, Georgia, by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Scott is currently in the Bibb County Georgia Law Enforcement Center awaiting extradition back to South Carolina.
